Bandmaster Nick Hall is only the 13th Bandmaster of Monkwearmouth Band and, since “taking the reins” in November 2004, his sound musical background has allowed the Band to further develop. Originating from South Shields Citadel Nick, wife Gwen and children Rebecca and Nathan have made Monkwearmouth their “home” and enjoy the fellowship of the Corps. In his professional life Nick works for the Salvation Army at a Community project in Sunderland.

Nick comments: “On behalf of the Band Local Officers and the Band members, I’m delighted to welcome you to our redesigned Band web site. The Band’s primary aim has remained unchanged since it’s formation in 1884 - that is to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord, Jesus Christ through music and to bring those who listen to it into a greater awareness of the difference that can be made in their lives by knowing and following Jesus.”
